Maya matches your words against help topics and weather terms stored inside ObserverWX. Questions are not sent to an AI service, and Maya cannot make emergency or operational decisions.
Use Location Hub once for city/state, ZIP, address, airport, coordinates, or device location. Choose a ranked suggestion so ObserverWX keeps that exact place and coordinates. Save up to ten fixed places; they can be renamed, reordered, or marked to open first. Current Location is a one-time foreground update, while Follow My Location updates only while ObserverWX is open. Either can be pinned as an explicit My Weather shortcut without using a Saved Place slot; they are not activated by swiping. Save two or more fixed places to swipe between them on Dashboard and Forecast; each place remembers its Forecast display and hourly position. Android widget setup can copy one selected Saved Place into a fixed-place widget, and tapping that widget returns Dashboard or Forecast to its place. Compact source and freshness labels identify exact loaded observations or cached NWS point forecasts without silently borrowing another place's weather. Current Conditions gives the plain-language picture, including recent temperature, dew point, and relative-humidity trends from a compatible same-station observation near one hour earlier. Sea-level pressure is used when reported, with a clearly labeled Altimeter fallback; its three-hour trend appears only when the METAR or compatible same-station history supports it. Stale or insufficient histories are labeled unavailable instead of inferred. Under Advanced Dashboard Settings, temperature can use Fahrenheit, Celsius, or either unit with the conversion shown in parentheses. Current conditions imagery can retain the Classic scene or use the optional Weather Scene 2.0A/2.0B lifelike preview with Off, Subtle, or Full motion and an Automatic, Generic, or manually selected representative landscape. Weather follows the coded observation and automatic terrain follows Location Hub coordinates; these scenes are not cameras, radar, or alerts. METARs retain the official coded observation.

Use Forecast, Radar/Satellite, Hazards, Tropical Weather, NOAA Radio, Flight Tracker, Live Cameras, SPC, GFA, Lightning, Space Weather, Climate, Fire Weather, and PIREPs when weather is changing.
Dashboard stays one tap away. Open a category to choose a page; the active category is highlighted. On phones, use Menu. Dashboard > Dashboard Settings > Tabs / Accessibility lets you hide pages, reorder categories, and pin favorites.
Use your browser's Install App or Add to Home Screen command. Installed mode still needs an internet connection for live weather.
Check timestamps and source status. If data look old or unavailable, open the linked official source before making a weather decision.
Typed places do not require GPS permission. Device location is optional and requested only after you choose it. Shared, saved, recent, and page-specific places stay in that browser/device.

VFR, MVFR, IFR, and LIFR are based on ceiling and visibility. The app shows the category near each current report.
TAF gives terminal forecast timing. AFD explains forecaster reasoning. SPC gives convective outlooks, watches, MDs, and storm reports.
The QC tab can build checklist rows, daily summaries, copy tables for Excel, and save day records locally. Choose Entire sheet in a table's Copy menu to include its headers, all displayed rows, and every column, then paste into cell A1 of a blank Excel sheet.
ObserverWX asks Google Play about updates when the Android app opens. When Play confirms a newer eligible version, ObserverWX displays an update notice with Update now and Later choices.
Google Play downloads routine updates in the background. ObserverWX then displays Restart and install when the download is ready. Choosing Later waits before offering that same version again.
Use the button below if the automatic notice has not appeared. Google Play must make the newer release available to your signed-in account and testing track before it can be installed.
Website-only ObserverWX changes update automatically. Android wrapper features such as widgets, native permissions, and app-update handling require a Google Play app update.
